Alpha is a resource churches use to create a space and a culture where people are excited to invite their friends into a conversation about Jesus. Alpha can be run almost anywhere, by Christians of all traditions all over the world – from a church hall to a restaurant or online, and has lasting impact on guests and church communities.
We estimate that over 28 million people have experienced Alpha in over 175 countries and in over 100 languages around the globe.
Running Alpha for 10 years
First Baptist Church has run Alpha for over 10 years. Through the years, they have seen many guests come to faith, the congregation grow in their serving, and the church renewed and inspired for mission.
Watch the video to see how First Baptist Church has used Alpha as a tool for evangelisation in their community and for the revitalisation of the church.

What does an Alpha Session look like?
Connection
Whether in person over a meal or virtually with a cup of tea, all sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships.
Content
The Alpha talks are designed to inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
Conversation
One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say.
3 ways to run Alpha
Alpha is adaptable and can be run in a number of different ways. Whether you prefer meeting in-person or if you run an online ministry, Alpha can be run in a format that best suits the needs of your guests.
In Person
In churches, cafes, prisons, schools, at home, anywhere people can gather, Alpha can run.
Start with a meal, watch a video covering an aspect of the Christian faith, and start authentic conversations in a safe and honest space.
Online
Alpha online uses the exact same content as the in-person Alpha, the only difference is that it is hosted fully in a digital space. There is still a talk and small group discussions, with the option of sharing a virtual meal with guests before the talk.
Alpha online allows churches to take evangelism to a new space – the digital space, with the intention to reach further and wider by empowering the congregation to create more opportunities for more people to hear about the gospel
Hybrid
Alpha is adaptable. You can start Alpha in person with full confidence that should circumstances change, you will be able to move online with ease for you and your participants.
Find an Alpha series that best suits your guests
Alpha has a variety of video series to suit the needs of different demographics of guests. Are you running Alpha for adults or youths? Do you want to run Alpha in English or maybe in a different language? We have something for everyone.
